Born in Singapore,Xiao began to his love of music when he was a child. When he was in secondary school, he started to join the school choir. It was in the year 2005, Xiao started o take up classical vocal lessons from famous Singapore vocal educator and choral conductress,Madam ElenaNg Choy Luan.
Three years later, Xiao went to Singapore Raffles Music College to as a full-time student and completed his studies, receving FdMus in Music Performance,which was awarded by the college's univesity partner,Univesity of West London.
As a composer, Xiao had two of his works world premiered in February 2011 and both works were well received.
Currently, Xiao is a member of two professional organisations, situated in Singapore. They are:
Composers and Authors of Singaore (In charge of royalties)
Musicans Society of Singapore (A society of various musicians meet and perform)
